It is a Doric-style temple built during the 5th century BC, dedicated to Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage and queen of the gods. Like many ancient Greek temples, the Temple of Juno features a peripteral design with a colonnade of columns surrounding the inner sanctuary or cella. It is constructed from local sandstone and measures approximately 67.37 meters (221 feet) in length and 24.25 meters (79.6 feet) in width, making it one of the largest temples in the ancient world.
